A Weekend With Mom

Guess what I did last weekend! I stayed home with mom while Dad and Yosef were out of town! It was one of the most fun weekends! We went to the park to feed the ducks. While we were at the park a duck started a fight with other ducks! It was very funny! As we were going to the van, we spotted an ant hill. We tried to guess whether the queen ant or the princess ant lays eggs. Then we went to the library so we could study about ants. We learned that the queen ant lays eggs every second of the day. Then we went to Battle Park. It was fun because we got to climb the rocks. When we got home we got to watch lots of TV. It was a very fun weekend!

A Party at the Zoo

It was Saturday, September 19, 2009. My family, my cousins, my aunts and uncles, and I were going to the zoo! It took us three hours to get there! When we were at the zoo, we had to eat something before we went in. After we saw monkeys, giraffes, zebras, seals, chimpanzees, and lions we went to a picnic table and had a birthday party for my 2-year-old cousin Jaedon. After we ate all our food, we had cake. Then it was time to open presents. I gave her a pillow and a Baby Alive. When it was time to go home, I said, "Goodbye." When I got home, I was very tired!

The Best Day of July

When it was July 25, 2009, my family and I went to Lowe's to build a helicopter. I used some wood. It was a lot of fun and difficult! I used a hammer and some nails. We did it because it was a lot of FUN!!! We had a choice of Emergency Rescue, Traffic Chopper, and News Reporter. I picked the Emergency Rescue Helicopter. I picked it because I want to rescue people who are lost.

My Story

I was born on January 15, 2001. I was named Mihret. I was born in Ethiopia. When I was 3 1/2 years old, my mother died from HIV/AIDS. After my mother died, I had to go to an orphanage with my brother named Yosef. He was 10 years old. After a couple of years, a family in America knew about us. There were four people in the family. Their names are Lucas (the youngest one), Kaitlyn (older than Lucas), and Mom and Dad. They were going to adopt Yosef and me. Once Yosef and I were adopted, we were happy in our new home. Once we knew the house very well, we knew the people very well too. Everybody has a talent in our house. Mom has a talent of singing. Dad has a talent of drumming. Yosef's talent is playing soccer. Kaitlyn's talent is arts and crafts. Lucas' talent is being a good scientist. And last of all, my talent is music and dancing. Everybody likes to watch TV and read a book called, "Charlotte's Webb," by E.B. White. Yosef is 13 years old. Kaitlyn is 8 1/2 years old. I am 8 years old. Lucas is 7 years old. Mom is 31 years old. Dad is 33 years old. I have a wonderful family.
